“Whether my students end up as music professionals or amateurs, I hope that the knowledge I share with them will help them  to continue to play and love music long after they stop taking lessons.”

Has been immersed in music since early childhood.  His father Edmond Bijakowski, a life long violinist, began Steve’s musical journey on the piano at the age of 4.  A few years later Steve also discovered the saxophone, which quickly became a new passion in his life.  Steve attended Mohawk College where he studied with some of Canada’s top jazz musicians.  During his studies Steve also began the pursuit of both clarinet and flute.  He has played in groups with varying styles including blues, latin, rock, jazz and funk.  Steve has enjoyed a lot of travel because of music, playing saxophone on several cruise ships in the Caribbean and Mexico, performing at different venues across Canada and the United States, and in Poland with some of their top young jazz artists in the musical city of Cracow.  After completing his studies, Steve also began on the path of teaching.  Since that time Steve has taught at several private music schools, has been a clinician for the Halton Board of Education instructing large groups of young woodwind students, as well as teaching private lessons.  Steve enjoys passing on the knowledge and experience he has acquired in these diverse situations, so that his students can enjoy both learning and playing music.
